How I Wore It: Glam Gold and Turquoise Chevron Earrings

Shorts: Walmart | Turquoise and Gold Beaded Earrings: By Love Designs
Tank Top: Aerie (similar) | Sandals: Amazon

I made an outing to St. Augustine over the weekend with the sole mission of visiting Cousteau's Waffle & Milkshake Bar, a dessert spot that specializes in waffles and milkshakes. I've been struggling to figure out how to style these printed floral shorts that I got weeks ago, and why I didn't think of pairing them with a simple black top sooner, I have no idea! While I do have the glam chevron fringes in black and gold, I wanted to balance out the black in my top and sandals, so I chose the turquoise and gold beaded earrings to complement the shorts. All in all it was a Saturday well spent, and thankfully between walking The Bridge of Lions twice and also getting in lots of steps through downtown St. Augustine, I think I managed to burn off most of my (very delicious) Bond Company Stooge waffle!

How I Wore It: Fiery Ombre Fringe Earrings

Earrings: By Love Designs | Tank Top: Aerie (similar)
Jeans: Old Navy | Sandals: Maurices (similar) | Purse: Thrifted (similar)

I'm typically a jewel tone girl when it comes to my personal style, so all these warm colors were a little out of my comfort zone! I paired the fiery ombre fringe earrings with a simple orange tank top, mom jeans, and "dressy" sandals and finished it all off with a vintage hip bag that I added a chain to. I know I was mixing black and brown with the addition of the purse, but I didn't care.

How I Wore It: Blue and White Geometric Earrings

Earrings: By Love Designs | Top: Lulus | Shorts: Lulus
Bralette: Free People | Sandals: Amazon

I had a birthday party to go to that was at a dressy casual venue and outside on a humid spring day, so I needed an outfit that I would stay cool in while still looking cute. This lightweight sheer top fit the bill perfectly, and I layered a lacy bralette underneath it for some extra playfulness.

I had this outfit planned for this event and the blue geometric earrings design was actually inspired by the outfit!

How I Wore It: All Gray Everything

Buddha charm necklace - By Love Designs (buy)
Mossimo scarf - Target | earrings - Brighton (buy)
Olivia Moon sweatshirt - Marshalls (buy) | Zenana Outfitters cami - Marshalls (buy)
Madden Girl boots - Amazon (buy) | Indigo Rein jeggings - Marshalls (buy similar)

Not too long ago I felt that I needed to incorporate more color into my wardrobe. Not that I wanted to, but needed to, which really is kind of a silly notion. If I'm happier in darker colors, why not just buy and wear darker colors?

Anyway, I think I've mastered the art of dark or colorless outfits. A couple of shades of gray paired with black and dark denim actually make for an outfit that comes together well, nothing dark or depressing here!

Oh, and when cold weather strikes and scarves become a wardrobe staple, long necklaces or statement earrings are a great way incorporate accessories into your outfit.
